Movie Mondays:The Ambassador

The Ambassador is described as "a strange mix of Borat and the Economist." Danish documentary filmmaker Mads Brügger, exposes how easy it is to fake an identity in order to bribe officials and smuggle blood diamonds from central Africa. You get to see the kingpins, the players, the ministers who live a very comfortable life away from the rest of the population. In the documentary, Brügger entered "a highly bizarre, un-chartered netherworld" and in effect made a real film about a fake man that exposes us to the underworld that is very rarely if ever showcased. A film really worth checking out that not only educates but also keeps our head shaking at the reality of corruption out there.
